How To Change Start Text In Windows XP?



Hello friends!! I'm back with some XP tweaks. Today I'm posting about changing start text in Windows XP. So do you want to change your start text in Windows XP like it:

Change Start Text In XP

Follow these steps:
  • Download Resource Hacker from here.
  • Open ResHacker
  • Now go to File> Open
  • Look for explorer.exe which has the path C:\windows
  • You will see list of many items on left side.
  • Double click on String Table.
  • If you have Windows Classic Style then double click on 38 else for simple Windows XP style, click on 37> then on 1033.
  • For Windows XP style, start will be written for 578 like it 578, "start"and for Window Classic style start will be written on line 595.
  • Change the name whatever you want with in quotes.
  • Now click on Compile Script button.
  • Now save it as hello.exe in C:\windows
  • Now go to run> Type regedit
  • Go to the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE> MICROSOFT> WINDOWS NT> Winlogon
  • On the right side look for name Shell.
  • Open it and give the name hello.exe in Value data:
  • Close the registry.
  • Log off or Restart your System.
  • That's all. Enjoy!
